Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is an upcoming American horror film written by Matthew Robbins and Guillermo del Toro and directed by comic book artist Troy Nixey. It is a remake of the 1973 ABC made-for-television horror film of the same name. A young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own. The film is scheduled to be released on August 12, 2011 (United Kingdom) and August 26, 2011 (United States).
